Jim has been a lawyer for more than 39 years.  Jim represents corporations, individuals, landlords and tenants, creditors, debtors, husbands and wives.  His areas of practice include:

Jim practices all over Virginia and has offices in Richmond and Mathews, where he plays an active role in preserving local historical landmarks and giving back to the communities.  In his "spare time" Jim has been instrumental in revitalizing both downtown Richmond and downtown Mathews.  In Richmond, Jim has restored historic residential and commercial buildings, including, several buildings in the Arts District on Broad Street aiding the downtown area's revitalization.  In Mathews, Jim was instrumental in establishing the Mathews YMCA, preserving local historical landmarks such as Donk's Theatre and Richardson's Drug Store.  

Jim has represented thousands of wonderful clients, including over 10,000 purchasers and sellers in real estate closings all over Virginia.  Jim has assisted the elderly in Mathews and Richmond with estate planning; providing straight forward clear and concise direction in making decisions that will speak when they cannot.  Jim has assisted those being crushed by insurmountable debt to obtain a fresh financial start after illness, divorce, job loss and other events beyond control.  Jim assists his clients in not only the dissolution of marriage, but the exploration of remedies to save a marriage, when possible, especially those with children.  Be it, guardianship, adoption, traffic offenses or representation in general district or circuit court, Jim is there for you.
